Mo Leverett
Mo is an accomplished singer-song-writer and recording artist, an effective teacher and urban theologian, an inspirational speaker and storyteller. He has been featured in Christianity Today, World Magazine, CCM and many other publications. He has published his first book of prose and poetry and has lectured at RTS, Covenant Seminary, New Orleans Baptist Seminary and many other colleges and higher learning institutions. He has been featured on the 700 Club and is the recipient of many awards including The Angel Award. He has been named one of the 50 persons to watch by New Orleans Magazine and one of Louisiana’s Most Extraordinary Persons by WWL Radio and Hibernia Bank. Mo has worked for almost 20 years to establish Desire Street Ministries – a work of revitalization in one of our nation’s most challenged communities – the Desire Housing Project community of the upper-9th ward. He founded DSM and was its President and Executive Director for 16 years. He has since founded Rebirth International with a view to Glorify God by enlarging the church’s mission among the urban poor stateside and worldwide.
